The lateral side of the thumb receives a branch directly from the radial artery. It doesnt innervate any intrinsic hand muscles.

All the hand arteries originate from two main larger ones.

Hand artery anatomy. The arteries and veins the ulnar and radial arteries carry blood down through the forearm into the wrist where they anastomose join together to form arches. This rich vascular network can be divided into palmar and dorsal components. It gives rise to the deep palmar branch and continues laterally across the palm as the superficial palmar arch.
The arterial supply to the hand is comprised of a complex vascular network formed from the branches and distal continuations of the radial and ulnar arteries. The median nerve supplies sensation to the radial 3 and a half fingers on the palmar aspect as well as the nail beds. In utero both the ulnar and radial arteries originate from the axial artery rather than the brachial artery which is underdeveloped at that time.
Nerves of the hand. First dorsal metacarpal artery arises just before the radial artery passes between the two heads of the first dorsal interosseous muscle and divides almost immediately into two branches which supply the adjacent sides of the thumb and index finger. The radial and ulnar arteries.
Since the hand is the terminal region of the upper extremity numerous anastomoses take place here resulting in quite a complex vascular network. The ulnar artery enters the hand anteriorly to the flexor retinaculum and laterally to the ulnar nerve. Dominant arteries are found on the median side of the digit closer to midline in the index finger the ulnar digital artery is dominant in the little finger the radial digital artery is dominant in the middle and ring fingers ulnar and radial digital arteries are dominant respectively but dominance is less obvious.
These two blood vessels travel down the radial and ulnar sides of the forearm respectively. Instead it innervates the skin and fascia of the lateral portion of the back of the hand and lateral three and half digits. The arteria volaris indicis radialis arises nearby and descends down the index finger.
The ulnar nerve c8 t1 supplies all of the intrinsic muscles of the hand apart from the muscles of the thenar eminence and the radial two lumbricals these muscles are supplied by the median nerve c5 t1. Branching from the radial artery in the hand as it turns towards the deep palm the arteria princeps pollicis provides additional blood to the thumb muscles. Some structures within the hand which receive blood supply from the ulnar artery are the arches and grooves of the palm along with muscles which flex and rotate the hand and fingers.
