Fallopian tube anatomy. The fallopian tubes consist of four main parts from medial to lateral. The fallopian tubes extend in a superolateral direction pass superior and anterior to the ovaries and open into the peritoneal cavity lateral to them. In the presence of sperm and fertilization. The tube is attached to the ovary by a small ligament. The fimbrial segment is lush with cilia that beat vigorously and sweep the egg into the tube where it is fertilized.

Intramural interstitial part which is located within the myometrium of the uterus is 1 cm long and 07 mm wide. They lie in the upper border of the broad ligament extending laterally from the uterus opening into the abdominal cavity near the ovaries. The egg is quickly moved by the bell shaped infundibular segment into the ampullary region of the tube.

If conception occurs it normally does so within the tube. It can be affected by a wide range of pathology. Fallopian tube anatomy the fallopian tube is a muscular organ extending from the uterus and ending next to the ovary.
