Spermatic Cord Anatomy

External spermatic fascia an extension of the innominate fascia that overlies the aponeurosis of the external oblique muscle. Each cord is sheathed in connective tissue and contains a network of arteries veins nerves and the first section of the ductus deferens through which sperm pass in the process of ejaculation.

Testis Spermatic Cord

Spermatic cord is a cord like collection of structures that pass through the inguinal canal to and from the testis.

Spermatic cord anatomy. These structures are connected together by areolar tissue and invested by the layers brought down by the testis in its descent. Spermatic cord either of a pair of tubular structures in the male reproductive system that support the testes in the scrotum. The cremaster muscle contracts when the scrotum is exposed to cold temperatures pulling the scrotum closer to the body for warmth.

Turns medially to pass between the bladder and. It is continuous with the tail of the epididymis. The spermatic cord is composed of arteries veins lymphatics nerves and the excretory duct of the testis.

The anatomical course of the vas deferens is as follows. Cremasteric muscle and fascia formed from a continuation of the internal oblique muscle and its fascia. The spermatic cord is ensheathed in three layers of tissue.

The contents of the cord are covered with three concentric layers of fascia derived from the layers of the anterior abdominal wall. Moves down the lateral pelvic wall in close proximity to the ischial spine. Travels through the inguinal canal as part of the spermatic cord.

In order to insure normal sperm production the scrotum keeps the testes at a temperature slightly cooler than the rest of the body by contracting or expanding.
